I just recently heard that many Vets don't even know about all the benefits they are entitled to. I want to do something to help change that. Please let me know what I can do.

When a person stands up for what they believe in, it is never free. There is always a cost. When you choose to stand up for others, the cost is immeasurable but incredibly worthy. I have never trained for survival or for the survival of others. I have never slept on the ground in the desert just to find an hours rest. I have never hugged my children goodbye praying that they understood my conviction to serve my country or praying that God would allow us to meet again. I have never been tested to demonstrate my training during battle or suffered the affects of war. I have dropped to my knees to thank God for my freedom. I have thanked God for his mercy & blessings upon those who have ensured that right for me. I continue to ask for God's blessings on those who have survived their darkest night and returned to face their darkest day.

I do hate that you are still struggling with these health issues. It is unbelievable that they knew and sent you back into combat.
Our country needs to take better care of our veterans.

It is sad what the world is coming to. Too many people take advantage of the freedom they have, not realizing it's because of these guys that we have this freedom.

I met my husband when he was in the Marine Corps. When he served his 4 years there he then joined the Army National Guard for the state of TN and did a year of active duty at Fort Bragg, NC. Now he has been in the Coast Guard for the past 5 years. I am definately a supporter of the military of all branches!!!!! By the way, my dad served in the Navy during WWII and Korea.
God Bless our men and women of the US Military past and present!!!!!!!!

I think it is a real shame that the men and women who go and risk their lives to defend this country get treated so unfairly when they come back home. I think they should be treated like royalty for voluntarily going over seas to fight for our freedoms.
I've had a cousin and two nephews who have served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I think they truly deserve some respect!

I'm the daughter of two WWII Vets and the mom of two Soldiers and that makes everyone who has worn the uniform my family in my book. I don't take well to my family being treated withour the respect and honor htey deserve. I watched what our Vets went through during and after the Vietnam War and I swore I would not stand by and just let that happen again.
This site is terrific and much needed. You have one very appreciative supporter here. I will help you all out any way I can to get you to the Capitol and be heard.
Stay strong ~
In gratitude for all you did,
Deb Leonard
